Ashikeen has had an interesting career working as an in-house counsel in top Malaysian companies across two main industries, Technology, Multimedia & Telecommunications; and Investments. Her exposure to the commercial risks in those industries allow her to provide in-depth insights to her clients.
She kicked-off her career in general litigation with a dispute resolution law firm based in Kuala Lumpur and subsequently worked as an in-house counsel in Total Sports Asia, Asia's global leader in sports content and branding solutions where she advised the company on media rights distribution, football, digital content, sponsorship/licensing, event management and consulting.
Ashikeen then moved to Valuecap Sdn Bhd, where she advised on the investment house's corporate commercial agreements before she joined Celcom Axiata Berhad, overseeing the legal work supporting five (5) main portfolios, namely: (i) Digital Services, (ii) Content, (iii) Sales & Marketing, (iv) Finance and (iv) Human Resources.
She then took a sabbatical to raise her children and decided to return to practice with Zharif Nizamuddin in 2022.
Ashikeen was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA.
