Dr. Jeyanthi

Dr. Ir. Jeyanthi Ramasamy is a Trainee Associate in the Dispute Resolution and Financial Crimes & Asset Recovery Practice Group of Zharif Nizamuddin. She brings with her more than two decades of experience in the oil and gas sector as a distinguished professional in the industry.

She began her career in 2006 and has since served in leading multinational companies including Talisman, Shell, Oceaneering, Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad, and Wood Plc. Alongside her industry work, she has successfully blended professional expertise with academic excellence, holding senior engineering positions while pursuing research and teaching on a part-time basis.

Dr. Jeyanthi is a Professional Engineer (Petroleum) with a practicing certificate from the Board of Engineers Malaysia, serves as an Engineering Accreditation Panel member with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the current Chair of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) Kuala Lumpur branch, and a Life Member of the Women’s Institute of Management. She has also served on the boards of several public-listed companies in Malaysia.

Demonstrating strong multidisciplinary capabilities and having managed major capital oil and gas projects, she expanded her expertise into the legal field by obtaining a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from the University of Malaya in 2021 and subsequently passing the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examination. She is now embarking on her legal professional journey, combining extensive engineering background, academic achievements, and legal training to offer clients a unique combination of technical insight, strategic thinking, and innovative solutions.

Dr. Jeyanthi graduated with a Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2006, earned a Master’s in Petroleum Technology with Distinction from Curtin University of Technology in 2012, and completed an Industrial PhD in Subsea Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2016.
