Senior Associate
Amirah Mokhtar is a Senior Associate in the Conveyancing Practice Group of Zharif Nizamuddin. Amirah completed her pupillage with the firm and was given an extensive exposure, knowledge and hands-on conveyancing practice from her master and senior colleagues.
Upon being called to the Bar, she continued her career with the firm where she practices general commercial law with an emphasis on real estate transactions. She has represented various clients including but not limited to, private individuals; companies; and small and medium businesses, in sub-sale conveyancing transactions, perfection of transfer and charge, discharge of charge/reassignment and tenancy involving all types of properties in Malaysia. Her real estate practice is primarily on residential properties, but also includes commercial, industrial and agricultural real estate transaction.
Among the notable transaction that she had attended involved acquisitions of various types of properties ranging from RM2.15 million to RM6.00 million and reviewing a lease agreement involving a 6.7-hectare land designated for the development and operation of a large scale 5MWac solar farm.
She has also attended among all, to clients’ application(s) for distribution and/or administration of small estates at the land office/land registry tier, drafting Power of Attorney for private individuals in managing their properties/estates, and resolving issues/encumbrances faced by clients with the land office/land registry concerning mistakes/mis-plotting of land lots on their property’s Issue Document of Title.
Other than conveyancing, Amirah also works hand in hand with other team members specialising in corporate commercial matters. She has been involved in, among others, legal due diligence exercises; drafting of transaction documents; contract reviews and general corporate advisory work carried out by the firm.
In her leisure time, she finds pleasure in exploring outdoor activities with family and friends; food hunting; playing sports; and listening to music. Beyond her work in legal practice, she is currently pursuing certification through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), a program for early childhood education.
Amirah holds a Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2015 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya in 2016.
